"Amazing Grace"
This one was an interesting story. We were wrapping up our series on "Amazing Grace" (both the song and the concept, natch), and we needed one more interview - someone who had found grace and love in pain. And then we met Bryce Speer.
Bryce's story is explained here better than I could type it, but the short story is that Bryce's daughter Grace was born blind, and living through the tragedy has been a revealing experience for Bryce. Story aside, it was a memorable shoot for me because interviewing Bryce turned out to be such an emotional experience. She would say things and really feel them as she said them, and it was actually painful to be a part of. There's a moment in here where Bryce accepts God's grace and plan for her, "even if it means that God never heals my baby girl." And then, in her eyes you see it - the true weight of what that means. She hadn't chosen her words lightly.
Of all the interviews I've ever done, this is my favorite.
