"Faces of Harvest"
When the Harvest was started several years ago, it was a worship service built on community. Small room, lots of laity involvement, a group breakfast - but once the service outgrew the narrow room it was held in and moved into the 2,000-seat sanctuary, we discovered it was difficult to create any real feeling of family in that echoing space. Even while the service grew in terms of members, we felt it suffered in terms of connection.
Last year, we pushed for a movement to reconnect the members of the Harvest with one another, and during a sermon series based on community, we launched a "Faces Of Harvest" series, highlighting stories within our group of how a church shows support and love.
We've done a number of these, but the one the Rogers told was always one of my favorites, since it took us all the way back to when the Harvest had just begun.
