"Healer"
One of the real thrills I get at the church is directing the services on Sunday. Occasionally I'm given a little bit of advance warning: a chance to go through the score with one of the music ministers, or to listen to the album version we're basing our take on, but on a lot of the songs I only know little details like "the soloist will be on the front of the stage." It makes it scary to go in with no rehearsal, but it makes it more exciting, too. A lot of times we finish that week's anthem and my heart is just pounding in my chest.
This was one of those Sundays. I didn't really know how things were gonna go until we started going, but once the song picked up, Stephen Rogers just ended up knocking it out of the park. I ended up saving the song since I loved the performance so much.
